The Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh, recognised as the oldest Golfing Society in the world, has an excellent reputation for looking after the needs of its members, their guests and visitors alike. The Professional team, led by Steven Brian, strive to make the Burgess experience an exceptional one. The Professional’s shop is both modern and welcoming and frequently found to be the hub of the days golfing banter. The shop is fully stocked with all the latest golfing ‘must haves’, from the longest driver to the putter that never misses, the warmest skin layers to the often needed fully waterproof clothing. Steven Brian – Society Professional
Steven was appointed Society Professional in 2002 after nine years service as the Assistant to the then Professional George Yuille.
Steven has built up a reputation as a talented coach, coaching from club, to county, to international levels. Steven enjoys his golf and can be found through the summer months competing on the Scottish Tartan Tour.
Colin Dick – Assistant Professional
Colin joined the Society in March 2012 and has been an instant success. This is Colin’s first assistants’ job and he is looking forward to learning the ins and outs of the professional world.
Overall Colin is a sport enthusiast having played in a World Junior Curling Championship and European Youth Olympics.
Colin is very much looking forward to getting started with his training, and starting his teaching and playing career.
Mike Cowan – Shop Manager
Mike is in his ninth season with the Professional shop and is available to assist the members with any shop or Society matters.
